About the Role

At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Ruby on Rails Developer to build, maintain, and optimize scalable production web applications and APIs.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, background jobs, performance, and clean, well-tested code .

You’ll work with product and engineering teams to ship reliable features, improve application performance, and maintain systems built for scale.

What You’ll Own

Ruby on Rails Development

Build and maintain production Ruby on Rails applications

Develop backend services, business logic, and internal tools

Work with Ruby, Rails, ActiveRecord, and MVC architecture

Build reusable, maintainable services following Rails best practices

Integrate with front-end technologies such as Stimulus, React, or Vue.js

APIs & Integrations

Design and maintain RESTful APIs

Integrate third-party APIs, SaaS platforms, and payment systems

Build and maintain webhooks and background synchronization jobs

Implement authentication, authorization, and rate limiting

PostgreSQL & Background Jobs

Design and maintain PostgreSQL/MySQL schemas

Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database performance

Build asynchronous workflows using Sidekiq/Resque
